Dec 2, 2001 - Cecilia Kozamin, 76, of Haifa, was one of 15 people killed in a suicide bombing on an Egged bus No. 16 in Haifa.

The bombing occurred shortly after noon, when a Hamas suicide bomber boarded an Egged No. 16 bus traveling from the Neveh Sha'anan district, paid the driver with a large bill, then blew himself up as the driver asked him to collect his change.

A resident of a seniors' home in the Neveh Sha'anan quarter of Haifa, Cecilia (Tzila) Kozamin immigrated to Israel 10 years ago from Odessa with her son and grandson. In the Ukraine, Kozamin sold tickets at a circus and her grandson remembered fondly how he had enjoyed going there with her. Kozamin's daughter-in-law died a year ago of cancer.

Tzila Kozamin was looking forward to the birth of her first great-grandchild. Always ready to sing and dance, she appeared much younger than her age, her friends at the seniors' residence said yesterday.

Cecilia Kozamin was buried in Haifa. She is survived by her son Yevgeny and her grandson.
