  Dan Yehuda

June 18, 2001 - Dan Yehuda, 35, of Homesh was killed in a drive-by shooting attack between Homesh and Shavei Shomron, near Nablus.

Dan Yehuda was killed when his car came under a hail of fire while driving between Shavei Shomron and Homesh. He had escaped injury only a week before when his car was fired upon while driving on the Nablus bypass road.

17-year-old Alex Briskin, who was with him in the car, was wounded in the shooting. According to the Briskin, two terrorists in a yellow Palestinian Mercedes taxi passed Yehuda's car, apparently to check the occupants, then drove on, turned around, and opened fire. They then returned to check if the car's occupants were dead. Alex lay on the car floor, pretending he was dead, until the terrorists fled to the nearby Palestinian Authority-held territory.

Dan Yehuda was raised in Moshav Bnei Ayash in the Negev, one in a family of five children. He moved to Homesh in northern Samaria with his wife, Sigi, five years ago, where their three sons, aged one to four, were born. He was a building contractor, and had just finished refurbishing the living room in their home.

Dan Yehuda was buried in Moshav Bnei Ayash.
