Dec 8, 2001 - Ido Cohen, 17, of Jerusalem, died of wounds suffered in the suicide attack at the Ben Yehuda pedestrian mall in the center of Jerusalem on December 1, bringing the death toll to 11.

At about 11:30 P.M., two suicide bombers detonated explosive devices on Ben Yehuda Street, the pedestrian mall frequented by many young people on Saturday night. A car bomb exploded nearby 20 minutes later. In addition to the 11 people killed, about 180 were injured in the terrorist attack.

Ido Cohen had gone to the Rehov Ben-Yehuda pedestrian mall with his older brother and some classmates. His brother went for a pizza, and Ido sat with some friends on a bench. Two of his friends, Yoni Korganov and Guy Vaknin, were killed instantly. Ido, who suffered a fatal head injury and had been unconscious since the attack, died of his wounds a week later.

Ido was to have celebrated his 18th birthday in several weeks. He had a beautiful voice and loved to sing.

Ido Cohen was buried in Jerusalem. He is survived by his parents, Shlomo and Shushie, and four brothers and sisters.
