Moshe Gutman

Dec 12, 2001 - Moshe Gutman, 40, of Emmanuel, was one of 11 people killed in a terrorist attack on an Israeli bus and several passenger cars near the entrance to Emmanuel in Samaria.

At 18:00 PM, on the fourth night of Hanukkah, three terrorists attacked a No. 189 Dan bus traveling to the ultra-Orthodox settlement of Emmanuel from Bnei Brak, as well as several passenger cars, with a roadside bomb, anti-tank grenades, and light arms fire at 18:00 P.M. Ten people were killed and about 30 were injured.

Moshe Gutman had been seriously wounded about a year ago while on reserve duty by a rock thrown near Emmanuel, but then had what doctors termed a miraculous recovery. He was still undergoing therapy when he was killed. He had been driving behind the bus, returning home from a support group meeting for people injured in terrorist attacks, when he was hurt in the explosion and died in the ensuing gun battle.

Moshe Gutman was buried in Jerusalem. He is survived by his wife Pnina and nine children.
