Dec 2, 2001 - Rassim Safulin, 78, of Haifa, was one of 15 people killed in a suicide bombing on an Egged bus No. 16 in Haifa.

The bombing occurred shortly after noon, when a Hamas suicide bomber boarded an Egged No. 16 bus traveling from the Neveh Sha'anan district, paid the driver with a large bill, then blew himself up as the driver asked him to collect his change.

Rassim Safulin immigrated to Israel in 1993 with his wife, Valentina, and son from Leningrad in Russia. They lived in Ramot Remez quarter of Haifa. On the day of the bombing, he took the bus to the bank to withdraw his pension. When Valentina heard the news, she called the bank and was told that Rasim had not arrived.

Rassim Safulin was buried in Haifa.
