June 1, 2001 - Yulia Nelimov, 16, of Tel Aviv, was one of 21 people killed in a suicide bombing at a Tel-Aviv discotheque shortly before midnight on Friday night. Yulia's older sister, Yelena, 18, was also killed in the blast.

Yulia and Yelena immigrated from Russia five years ago with their mother, Ella, their brother Sasha, now 14, and their grandmother. A family friend said it was the girls who pressed for the family to immigrate to Israel. Yulia was a student at Miftan Alon. Friends said the girls loved dancing and going out.

Yulia is survived by her brother, Sasha, as well as her mother and father, who still resides in Russia.

She was buried alongside her sister in the Yarkon cemetery in Tel-Aviv.
