Oct 21, 2002 - Indelou Ashati, 54, of Hadera, was one of 14 persons killed when a bus was blown up in a suicide attack by a terrorist driving an explosives-laden jeep near the Karkur junction.

Indelou Ashati was killed on his way home from visiting his daughter, who is in a medical facility in Tiberias. His son, Solomon, age 5, died four years ago.

The Ashati family immigrated to Israel from Ethiopia in 1991, during Operation Solomon, and settled in Hadera. Ashati worked for the Jewish National Fund and the Israel Electric Corporation but had been unemployed in recent months.

Indelou Ashati was buried in Hadera. He is survived by his wife Azalou, a daughter (19) and two sons (16 and 4 1/2).
