Revital Barashi
Aug 13, 2002 - Revital Barashi, 30, of Jerusalem, mortally wounded in the attack, was one of nine people killed killed when a bomb exploded in the Frank Sinatra student center cafeteria on the Hebrew University's Mt. Scopus campus.
Shortly after 13:30, while about 100 people were eating lunch, a bomb exploded in the Frank Sinatra student center cafeteria on the Hebrew University's Mt. Scopus campus in Jerusalem. The explosive device was apparently planted inside the cafeteria, which was gutted by the explosion. Nine people were killed and 85 were injured. Hamas claimed responsibility for the attack.
Revital was seriously wounded in the head and remained in a coma until succumbing to her injuries on August 13.
The youngest of 13 children of a Jerusalem family, Revital lived in the center of the capital and worked for the past seven years as a student adviser in the university's Law Faculty. She was named outstanding worker of the university for 2000. Revital's colleagues described her as "talented, cheerful, and always willing to help others. She performed her work efficiently and with precision, and always with a smile."
Revital Barashi was buried in Jerusalem. She is survived by her parents and 12 brothers and sisters.
