Nov 19, 2003 - Sgt. Liron Siboni, 19, of Ramat Gan, who was wounded in the September 9 suicide bombing at Tzrifin, died of her wounds, bringing the death toll in the attack to nine.

The bomber wore civilian clothes and carried a leather bag containing a 3-4 kilogram bomb. He got out of a car at the hitchhiking post outside a main entrance to the Tzrifin army base and Assaf Harofeh Hospital, and almost immediately blew himself up, killing eight and wounding 30. Hamas claimed responsibility for the attack. Sgt. Liron Siboni, who was struck by a fragment which penetrated her head, died two and a half months later, never having regained consciousness.

Liron left her hometown of Maale Adumim, east of Jerusalem, three years ago with her family, and completed her studies at the Amal B High School in Petah Tikva. She enlisted in the army about a year ago and served as liaison NCO for reserve soldiers in the Signal Corps at Tzrifin.

Liron's family decided to donate her organs for transplant. Her mother Nava said, "She had a heart of gold, and there was no reasno not to transplant such a heart in someone who needs it."

Sgt. Liron Siboni was buried in the Kiryat Shaul military cemetery. She is survived by her parents and two siblings.
