Tanizm terrorist and explosive belt manufacturer arrested in Nablus

16 Nov 2008

(Communicated by the IDF Spokesperson)

On November 16, 2008, a joint IDF-ISA force arrested Mohammed Fa'iz Matstafah Abu Krek (17), a Tanzim terrorist who had been working on perpetrating an explosive belt terrorist attack against an IDF force stationed in Nablus. Mohammed Abu Krek was a member of the military infrastructure cell of a terrorist organization in the old city of Nablus that specializes in manufacturing unique explosive devices such as explosive belts. Most of its members have affirmed to abstain from terrorist activity.

Mohammed Abu Krek served as the assistant of Amin Loubadah, a senior terrorist in Nablus and expert manufacturer of explosive belts. Abu Krek had manufactured the explosive belt of Fa'hami Dardooch, whose attempt to perpetrate a terrorist attack at the Hawara crossing was thwarted by an IDF force at the site.

Mohammed Abu Krek was taken in for questioning by security forces.
