  Mara Fishman

Dec 2, 2001 - Mara Fishman, 52, of Haifa, was one of 15 people killed in a suicide bombing on an Egged bus No. 16 in Haifa.

The bombing occurred shortly after noon, when a Hamas suicide bomber boarded an Egged No. 16 bus traveling from the Neveh Sha'anan district, paid the driver with a large bill, then blew himself up as the driver asked him to collect his change.

Mara Fishman lived with her husband, Ilya, and their only son in the Sprinzak quarter of Haifa. They immigranted to Israel from the former Soviet Union several years ago. Her husband said they would be desolate without her. "She was a wonderful woman and supported the whole family," he said. "I don't know how we are going to manage without her."

Mara Fishman was buried in Haifa. She is survived by her husband, son and elderly mother.
