June 1, 2001 - Marina Berkovizki, 17, of Tel Aviv, was one of 21 people killed in a suicide bombing at a Tel-Aviv discotheque shortly before midnight on Friday night.

Marina, who rarely went out, perferring to study, according to friends, was at the discotheque to celebrate her 17th birthday.

Berkovizki immigrated to Israel with her family from Uzbekistan four and a half years ago. Her father passed away two years ago, and Marina is survived by her mother and older brother.

Marina Berkovizki was buried in the Yarkon cemetery in Tel-Aviv.
