May 25, 2001 - The burnt body of Yosef Alfasi, 50, of Rishon Letzion, was discovered near the West Bank city of Tulkarem.

Yosef Alfasi was reported missing on Wednesday (May 23). He was last seen Wednesday morning in the Samaria community of Ginot Shomron, where he was building a house. He was due to meet with a Palestinian contracter from Azzoun who was working on the house.

Alfasi's body was discovered Friday morning in a wadi near the West Bank city of Tulkarem. He was stabbed to death, and his body was then burned. One of three Palestinians arrested by security forces in the villages of Azzoun and Marda, who are believed to have been involved in Alfassi's disappearance and murder, led security forces to the site.

Alfassi was buried in the Rishon Lezion cemetery. He is survived by his wife and four children.
