  St.-Sgt. Moshe Peled

Feb 14, 2002 - St.-Sgt. Moshe Peled, 20, of Rehovot was one of three soldiers killed when a powerful mine exploded under a IDF tank on the Karni-Netzarim road in the Gaza Strip, following the detonation of a roadside bomb at a civilian convoy of cars and a bus.

St.-Sgt. Moshe Peled was raised in a religious family and was a member of the Bnei Akiva youth movement. A family friend described Peled as an idealist who was already planning for the future and was due to be discharged from the army in a few months.

Moshe's commanding officer described him as a devoted commander who was always the first to confront terrorists.

St.-Sgt. Moshe Peled was buried in Rehovot. He is survived by his parents, Tamar and Yosef, and his sister, Matilda (15).
