July 24, 2002 - Li Bin, 33, of China was one of five people killed in a double suicide bombing on Neve Sha'anan Street near the old central bus station in Tel Aviv on July 17.

The two suicide bombers blew themselves up at a distance of 15-20 meters apart on the busy Neve Sha'anan street at 10:10 P.M., an area frequented by many foreign workers. The bombs, which were strapped to the waists of the bombers, he said, contained nails and metal shards. Five people, three of them foreign workers, were killed and about 40 were injured.

Li Bin was a resident of East China's Fujian Province. He came to Israel three years ago on a visa to work in agriculture, but later began working in construction as an employee of the Fujian Futong International Economic Cooperation Company. Li was critically injured in the explosion, struck in the head by splinters. He succumbed to his injuries on July 24, never having regained consciousness. Also killed was Xu Hengyong, a fellow worker; four others were injured.

His body was flown home to Fujian. He is survived by his wife, Lin Liyun, a 13-year-old son and a 10-year-old daughter.
