  Dikla Zino

Nov 21, 2002 - Dikla Zino, 22, of Jerusalem, was one of 11 people killed in a suicide bombing on a No. 20 Egged bus in the Kiryat Menahem neighborhood of Jerusalem.

The bomber, wearing a five-kilogram bomb belt packed with explosives and shrapnel, boarded the bus at approximately 7:00 A.M. on Mexico street in Kiryat Menahem. Before it reached the next stop, the terrorist, who was standing in the front section of the bus, set off the bomb, killing 11 people and wounding about 50.

Dikla boarded the bus on her way to work as a secretary in a lawyer's office at the same stop as the suicide bomber and was seriously injured in the head and chest when he detonated the bomb. She died on the operating table at the Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital.

The oldest of four children, Dikla was discharged from the army just four months ago. Relatives said that she had missed the bus, only to run after it. The driver stopped especially for her, a frequent passenger, even though he had passed the stop. She had planned to study business management at the Hebrew University.

Dikla Zino was buried in the Givat Shaul cemetery in Jerusalem. She is survived by her parents, a brother and two sisters.
