Mar 29, 2002 - Michael Orlansky, 70, of Tel-Aviv was stabbed to death while on his way to the synagogue for morning prayers, when a Palestinian terrorist infiltrated the Neztarim settlement in the Gaza Strip.

Michael Orlansky had been staying for the Passover holiday with his son Yossi and his family who are residents of Netzarim. He was killed along with Tuvia Wisner, who was also visiting family. A resident who had left the synagogue discovered them lying on the ground and immediately alerted the community's doctor and security officials. The two were taken in a bulletproof ambulance to Soroka Hospital but died en route.

His daughter in law, Rachel said: "He was a very special and generous man. He always used to give more than he was asked to. He loved his family, and came to visit us regularly."

Michael Orlansky was buried at the Segula cemetery in Petah Tikva. He is survived by his children: Yossi, Baruch and Ronit and 22 grandchildren.
