Igor Zobokov

Jan 5, 2003 Igor Zobokov, 32, of Bat Yam was one of 23 people killed when two suicide bombers blew themselves up on a pedestrian mall in Tel Aviv's Naveh Sha'anan neighborhood near the old central bus station.
Fatah's Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades claimed responsibility for the attack, which apparently was assisted by Islamic Jihad.
Igor Zobokov immigrated from Russia to Israel by himself three years ago. An aeronotical technician by profession, he worked in Israel in a plant for solar water-heaters, and was on his way home to Bat Yam when he was killed.
Irina, a young woman from Ukraine whom he had met just a month ago, described him as a gentleman who was always carefully dressed. She said that he had come to Israel in order to make a better living, saying that he earned three times as much as in Russia. Igor's hobby was computers and Internet, which he shared with Irina.
Igor Zobokov was buried in Novosibirsk in Russia, where he is survived by his parents, brother and sister.
