Mordechai Evioni

Jan 5, 2003 - Mordechai Evioni, 52, of Holon, was one of 23 people killed when two suicide bombers blew themselves up on a pedestrian mall in Tel Aviv's Naveh Sha'anan neighborhood near the old central bus station.
Fatah's Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades claimed responsibility for the attack, which apparently was assisted by Islamic Jihad.
Mordechai Evioni was on his way to take care of his sick mother when he was killed. A disabled veteran of the 1973 Yom Kippur War, he was wounded in the fighting on the Golan Heights and suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder for many years.
Ever since the death of his father three years ago, Mordechai cared for his mother, Mazal, who is chronically ill.
"He would cook for her, do laundry, clean for her, and take care of her," said his brother, Elitzur. In addition, Evioni was also an active volunteer in the Civil Guard, which had awarded him a citation.
Mordechai Evioni was buried in the Yarkon Cemetery. He is survived by his mother and brother.
