Ludmilla Paizakov
Oct 7, 2004 - Ludmilla Paizakov, 30, of Bat Yam and her husband Oleg were killed in the terror bombing at the Hilton Hotel in Taba - one of two tourist sites in Sinai hit the same night.
At around 22:00, a blast ripped through the Hilton Hotel in the resort town of Taba, near the border with Israel. The powerful blast was caused by car bomb which exploded at the entrance to the hotel, containing an estimated 250-300 kg of explosives, causing the collapse of part of the hotel. At about 23:30, two additional explosions occurred in the camping area of of Ras a-Satan, located about 45 kilometers south.
Oleg and Ludmilla Paizakov went to Sinai to celebrate their 10th wedding anniversary. This was their first vacation without their two sons, Daniel and Yigal. As the younger of the two did not have a passport, they stayed home with their grandparents.
Ludmilla was also looking forward to meeting with a childhood friend, who works in Cairo. She was very excited about the meeting, and had brought photo albums along to share with her friend. Ludmilla and Oleg were in their hotel room at the Taba Hilton, after phoning the boys to wish them good night, when the bomb exploded and the hotel wing collapsed, killing them both.
Ludmilla immigrated to Israel from Kazakhstan with her family in 1993. In Israel she met and married Oleg. Ludmilla worked as an accountant in the Tel Aviv area. Her younger sister, Olga Yitzhakov, who told the two young boys that their parents had been killed, said that from now on she would not only be their aunt, but their mother.
Ludmilla Paizakov is survived by her two sons, Daniel, 8, and Yigal, 3, her parents and sister Olga.
