Aug 31, 2004 - Tamara Dibrashvilli, 70, was one of 16 people killed in twin suicide bus bombings in Beersheba city buses. Hamas claimed responsibility for the attack.
The two explosions took place within minutes of each other on two Beersheba city buses, on route nos. 6 and 12, shortly before 3:00 P.M. The buses were traveling along Beersheba's main street, Rager Blvd, near the city hall. About 100 people were wounded.
Tamara Dibrashvilli was on her way home after shopping with her daughter in preparation for the upcoming memorial for her late husband, Shalva, who passed away seven years ago. When she boarded bus no. 6 there were no empty seats. One of the passengers, Nissim Vaknin, offered her his seat. The terrorist was unfortunately seated next to her, and Tamara was killed instantly.
Two months ago, Tamara's family surprised her with a party for her 70th birthday. Her four daughters and 14 grandchildren were her entire life.
Tamara Dibrashvilli was buried in Beersheba. She is survived by her daughters and grandchildren.
