The attack took place at about 22:45 PM, shortly before the closing of the Karni Crossing. After infiltrating the Israeli side of the crossing, the terrorists opened fire. Ibrahim Kahili, from the Bedouin village of Umm al-Ghanem in the Galilee, owned a transport company with his brother, Abed, and they had both worked as a truck drivers in Karni for over 10 years. Abed said Ibrahim had told him he did not believe such an attack would happen at Karni. "He said it was a dangerous place, but that is fate," Abed said. "Whoever sent those terrorists is not a human being. We bring the Palestinians food and look what they do," Abed said.
Ibrahim Kahili was buried in his home village. He is survived by his wife, Jasala, and five children: Mahmoud, Majed, Tadam, Rina and Sarin.
