Julia Voloshin

12 Jul 2005
July 12, 2005 - Julia Voloshin, 31, of Netanya was one of five people killed in a suicide bombing outside the entrance to Hasharon Mall in Netanya.

Shortly after 6:30 P.M., the bomber detonated himself at the pedestrian crossing on the south side of the intersection of Herzl and Petah Tikva Streets. The Islamic Jihad claimed responsibility for the attack.

Just moments before the blast, Julia was in a store in the center of Netanya where her friend Angela works. She continued on to the mall to shop and to deposit her pay check in the bank. She worked for the past few years at a restaurant in Herzliya Pituah. After the bombing, Julia was rushed to Laniado Hospital in Netanya and then transferred to the Sheba Medical Center in Ramat Gan, where she died later that night.

Julia immigrated to Israel from Ukraine eight years ago, after marrying Alexander. She received Israeli citizenship just six months ago. The couple did not have children.

Julia Voloshin was buried at the cemetery in Kibbutz Bahan. She is survived by her parents and husband.
