Dec 29, 2008 - Warrant Officer Lutfi Nasraladin, 38, of the Druze town of Daliat el-Carmel was killed by a mortar attack on a military base near Nahal Oz.
On Monday evening, mortar fire from Gaza struck an IDF base in the western Negev, near Nahal Oz. Warrant Officer Lutfi Nasraladin, a career officer, was killed. Several other soldier were wounded, one severely.
Lutfi Nasraladin enlisted in the IDF 19 years ago, and during the last 10 years served in the Golani Brigade. Twelve years ago he married Hanan. The day after he was killed, Lutfi was to have returned home to celebrate their daughter's fifth birthday.
Nasraldin was named after an uncle who was killed in action in the Jordan Valley a year before he was born. His grandfather, Amal Nasraldin, served as a Member of Knesset for the Likud party from 1977 to 1988.
Warrant Officer Lutfi Nasraladin was buried in the military cemetery of Ussafia. He is survived by his wife Hanan and daughter Asul, 5.
