"States have not only the right, but indeed the duty, to pursue those who engage in the barbaric tactics of terrorism. States sponsoring terrorism - members of this organization - that actively engage in activities, such as smuggling of weapons, ammunition and terrorists by sea, air, and land, must be held accountable before the international community.
Yet today, rather than confronting terrorism, the General Assembly launches yet another campaign against the victims of terrorism, the people of Israel."

PM Netanyahu: "There has not been, since the beginning of the peace negotiations between Israel and the Palestinians, any demand ever put, not on restraint, but on any limitation of settlement activity as a pre-condition for entering negotiations. This is a new thing."
Secretary Clinton: "What the Prime Minister has offered in specifics of a restraint on the policy of settlements which he has just described - no new starts for example, is unprecedented in the context of prior-to negotiations."

On Friday, October 2, 2009, Israel received a videotape of Gilad Shalit speaking.
PM Netanyahu said that the footage is important because it verifies Gilad Shalit's situation and determines that Hamas is absolutely responsible for his health and well-being.
On June 25, 2006, Gilad Shalit was kidnapped by Hamas terrorists within Israeli territory, near the Kerem Shalom crossing to the Gaza Strip in an unprovoked and well-planned attack in which two soldiers were killed and five others wounded. Gilad is one of seven ISRAELI MIAs.
