Foreign Minister Silvan Shalom meets with
National Security Adviser Condoleezza Rice

(Communicated by the Foreign Minister's Media Adviser)

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Silvan Shalom stated at the end of his meeting today with US National Security Adviser Condoleezza Rice that he is encouraged by the US approach, which places importance on dismantling the terrorist infrastructure, and that this demand will be brought up during Palestinian Authority Prime Minister Mahmoud Abbas's meetings at the White House.

Minister Shalom clarified that the peace process cannot advance unless the Palestinians fulfill their commitments.

National Security Adviser Rice said that she will insist both sides fulfill their commitments.
