 Kochava Shriki

7/18/2012

July 18, 2012 - Kochava Shriki, 44, of Rishon Lezion was one of six people who were killed in a suicide bombing attack on a bus carrying Israelis at Sarafovo Airport in Burgas, Bulgaria.

Kochava married her husband Yitzhak four years ago, and after years of fertility treatments had received the news that she was pregnant on the morning of their departure for a three-day vacation in Bulgaria.

Yitzhak related: "I was outside the bus at the time of the blast. My wife was inside. I ran to the bus which had started to go up in flames and yelled to Kochi to jump, but she refused out of fear of injuring the foetus. In the end she burned to death, despite my efforts to save her."

One of her sisters related that Kochava, their little sister, who loved children, was like a mother to her nieces and nephews.

Kochava Shriki was buried in the Old Cemetery in Rishon Lezion. She is survived by her hustand Yitzhak and sisters.
